The United States Congress passed the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act, or CARES Act,
to provide economic stimulus to individuals, businesses, and schools in the spring to 2020. The CARES
grant was approved for Rush County Schools with an approved amount of $334,201.93. Per grant
guidelines, $17,232.07 was appropriated to local non-public schools. These funds were encumbered by
December 31, 2020.

The Rush County Schools CARES grant includes the following items:

• At-Risk Counselors

• Chromebooks

• Instructional software

• Addition PPE and cleaning supplies
